La primera menci\u00f3 d\u2019ell \u00e9s de 20 de setembre de 1781.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>En esta primera \u00e8poca de l\u2019ensenyament, Alg\u00edmia, amb Algar, presenta una particularitat respecte als pobles ve\u00efns: l\u2019encarregat d\u2019educar els xiquets \u00e9s un laic, no un religi\u00f3s. Aix\u00f2 s\u00ed, ser\u00e0 el rector qui donar\u00e0 el perm\u00eds i l\u2019examinar\u00e0 de doctrina cristiana, gram\u00e0tica castellana i matem\u00e0tiques b\u00e0siques. Sembla que les autoritats d\u2019aquests pobles segueixen la l\u00ednia de <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Gregori Mayans i Siscar<\/mark>, qui propugnava la secularitzaci\u00f3 de la cultura, donat que els clergues eren generalment tradicionalistes. La tend\u00e8ncia es repeteix durant tot el segle XIX, malgrat les invectives de l\u2019integrisme cat\u00f2lic que, en paraules d<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">\u2019Andr\u00e9s Maj\u00f3n<\/mark>, el maestro ha de ser religioso o no es maestro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>A partir d\u2019aquest moment, tenim constatats una s\u00e8rie de mestres, entre ells, fills d\u2019Alg\u00edmia, com<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> Ramon G\u00fcemes<\/mark>, constatat durant els anys 1833 i 1834. A meitat del segle XIX, hem d\u2019afegir la pres\u00e8ncia d\u2019una maestra de primera ense\u00f1anza, Pascuala P\u00e9rez, que ocupa l\u2019escola des de 1854, la qual rep el 1858 un correctiu de la Inspecci\u00f3 Educativa, ja que su ense\u00f1anza se encuentra sumamente abandonada y ser\u00e1 objeto de otra visita escrupolosa. Gr\u00e0cies a Madoz sabem que el 1848 ja havia una mestra, per\u00f2 desconeguem el nom. Les assignatures per als xics s\u00f3n Religi\u00f3, Hist\u00f2ria Sagrada, Lectura, Escriptura, Gram\u00e0tica, Aritm\u00e8tica i Agricultura. A finals de segle, s\u2019afegeix Urbanitat. Per a les xiques, Religi\u00f3, Lectura, Escriptura, Aritm\u00e8tica, Costura, Calceta i Bordat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>L\u2019assist\u00e8ncia de l\u2019alumnat era irregular, ja que la consideraci\u00f3 de la inf\u00e0ncia era diferent, pesant m\u00e9s el seu paper com a m\u00e0 d\u2019obra i, en el cas femen\u00ed, la falta d\u2019inter\u00e8s patern, ja que el futur de la filla era el d\u2019esposa i mare. Pensem que la xiqueta treballava al camp i a casa, el xiquet sols al camp. A m\u00e9s, era el consistori qui devia proporcionar el local i pagar al docent fins la Reial Ordre de 21 de juliol de 1900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>L\u2019escola femenina estava a esquenes de l\u2019esgl\u00e9sia, on hui es troba l\u2019assessoria del poble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Menci\u00f3 especial mereix l\u2019exist\u00e8ncia d\u2019una escola diferent a la de xiqs i xiquetes establerta pel govern. El 1902, fugint de Sagunt per les pressions clericals, s\u2019establia a Alg\u00edmia el mestre Victoriano Cillero Medrano, fundador de l\u2019Escola Laica, que estava al primer pis de l\u2019edifici on estava el forn prop de l\u2019esgl\u00e9sia i que estigu\u00e9 en vigor fins la Guerra Civil. L\u2019Escola Laica, com indica el seu nom, no comptava amb la Religi\u00f3 com a mat\u00e8ria d\u2019estudi i inclo\u00efa d\u2019altres m\u00e9s modernes i era mixta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>La not\u00edcia \u00e9s interessant, ja que el 1907 sols 38 centres laics funcionaven en tota Espanya.<br>Passada la Guerra Civil hem d\u2019esperar a 1954, quan \u201cRegiones Devastadas\u201d far\u00e0 el grup escolar \u201cHermanos Serrano S\u00fa\u00f1er\u201d, actualment auditori. A l\u2019educaci\u00f3 prim\u00e0ria, renovada als anys 80 amb les instal\u00b7lacions que<br>hui romanen al costat de l\u2019antiga ubicaci\u00f3 i amb el nom de CEIP Pal\u00e0ncia, hem d\u2019afegir, des del curs 2021-22, la secci\u00f3 de l\u2019IES Clot del Moro de Sagunt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HIST\u00d2RIA ESCOLAR D\u2019ALG\u00cdMIA Helios Borja Cortijo,cronista d\u2019Alg\u00edmia.
